Here are a few photos taken along the way at the Walpeup desert Arboretum and returning home on the edge of the Hay plains on the Moulamein to Deniliquin road with a fast approaching storm front- which we managed to stay ahead of all the way to Yarrawonga, when it turned very wet.

Adelaide Reptile Expo
Come and say hello to Neil and see what Sonnemann Snakes has
for sale at the upcoming South Australian Reptile and Frog Expo on the 16th
& 17th May. It will be a great couple of days, and I am looking
forward to attending and catching up with fellow herpers. The committee have
worked very hard at ensuring this is an excellent inaugural expo for South
Australia and TV coverage before the event will ensure that many people will
come for a visit, even those who do not own reptiles. There is also fun for the
kids.
We will have some super specials on the day, and will have 2
Axanthic Black headed pythons up for sale, so get to the bank, and come and grab a special deal. See
you there!

The Victorian Herpetological Society held its annual Reptile Expo at the Melbourne Showgrounds last weekend on the 14th March 2015.
The event was well attended as usual with talks by experts in the field being held throughout the day and the auction of herp related products happening after lunch.
Reptile businesses and around 50 private breeders tables completed the lineup.
Some confusion arose due to the MICE expo being held next door (Melbourne International Coffee Expo) with one dreadlocked member going in to look for Guinea pigs!.
Sonnemann's Snakes had a breeders table at the expo, given free of charge by management and well appreciated, and sold some juvenile Black headed pythons on the day.
We will also be attending the South Australian two day Expo in April as well.

Castle Hill reptile Expo 2015
Sonnemann's Snakes once again had a presence at the Castle Hill reptile Expo held last weekend on the 15th February 2015.
Had a great weekend and met up with many people we had not seen for ages. We had a breeders table at the Expo and sold some of our het Axanthic Black headed pythons along with Stimsons, Knob tailed and Thick tailed geckos and the out-crossed line of the Snake Ranch albino maculosus project.
One thing that I was particularly impressed with was the quality of the animals on display and for sale, everything I saw looked healthy and well cared for.
Above are some photos taken on the day.

Axanthic Black Headed pythons now for sale - Priced from $1600
Axanthics are now for sale: Priced from $1600.Sonnemann Snakes has several Axanthic BHP hatchlings for sale.
We have been one of the founding breeders in this colour mutation, and many years have gone into the breeding behind these animals now for sale, making them great foundation stock for projects in the future.

We have decided to make this colour mutation available to more keepers and breeders, thus the price of these animals has been discounted greatly. For those working on other colour mutations, this is one of the animals you will need. To make a snow you will need an Axanthic.

All hatchlings emerged after 60 days in the egg, and all absorbed their egg yolk. Many were very large in size, and have been enthusiastic feeders. They are now approximately 5 weeks old, most have had 2 sloughs. All animals have had over 5 unassisted feeds. All are robust feeders, feeding on defrosted mice or rats. These are ready to be sold as established animals.
Axanthics are priced from $1600 depending on quality and colour. There are limited numbers for sale at these prices. Get in quick!!! You will save yourself a lot of money by purchasing a Sonnemann Snake.
Every house should have an Axanthic BHP!
Pictured are some of the Axanthics for sale. Contact us for more information.

UPDATE - as of July 2014
Well its time to update the blog, I haven't posted anything for a while because we have been traveling around the country. During May we spent a couple of days in Hobart enjoying Tasmanian hospitality and seeing the sights. In June we visited Cairns and Cooktown in Queensland as well as traveling inland to the small township of Chillagoe, one of my favourite places. At the end of the month we flew to Perth and back to catch up with old friends and buy some nice cabinet making wood for future projects. We missed out on the Zoo but went to the Armidale Reptile Centre and saw lots of WA endemics not easily seen anywhere else. So we have been busy getting out and about as well as with the animals on the farm.
During this time we have also become Grandparents!.
Cathy is still working on the Knob tailed geckos, and although the number has greatly decreased the quality of the animals she is breeding has increased accordingly. My Black headed and Children"s colonies have increased steadily over the last couple of years due to my not putting many up for sale, this year should see some of my best pairings reproduce and I'm looking forward to the results of multiple genetic traits brought together for the first time.
I've included some photos of our recent trips and also a couple of tantalising images of black headed pairings that I hope will work this year. There should be some babies for sale if all goes well- so watch this space, as well as our upcoming website, details later.
